On July 30, 2015, the National Whistleblower Center hosted the First Annual Congressional Celebration of National Whistleblower Day in the U.S. Senate’s Kennedy Caucus Room. Sen. Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) spoke to the crowd of whistleblowers and their supporters about the important role whistleblowers play in government accountability: “The ability of citizens and public servants to step forward to shine a light on misconduct, fraud and abuse is a vital part of our democracy.”
