Watch Boeing Whistleblower Ed Pierson speak at National Whistleblower Center’s 2024 National Whistleblower Day celebration on Capitol Hill. Ed Pierson is a Boeing 737 Max Whistleblower and is the Executive Director of the Foundation for Aviation Safety.

Ed Pierson served as a Senior Manager at Boeing’s Renton, Washington 737 Max factory, overseeing the manufacturing of Boeing’s 737 Max airline and leading the Industrial Engineering and Shipside teams in final assembly and P-8 Poseidon Shipside teams. Prior to his work in airline manufacturing, Pierson was a Senior Flight Operations Manager at Boeing’s Flight Test and Evaluation division.

In his speech, Ed speaks to the longstanding history of faulty software and electrical parts, safety concerns in manufacturing, and a faulty certification process in Boeing’s factories which led to the deaths of 346 people. After witnessing these issues in Boeing’s factories, Ed reported internally to the company, but his reports did not generate any solutions. On April 17th, 2024, Ed Pierson testified before the Senate about these manufacturing concerns and Boeing’s deliberate rush to manufacture planes, sacrificing safety in the process. Despite this testimony, Boeing executives continue to deny that manufacturing played a role in the series of Boeing disasters.
